Our Paper To CAD Solution

1. Conversion Procedure

We can convert drawings into AutoCAD (.dwg or .dxf) format or Microstation (.dgn) formats.

All drawings are re-drawn manually. Where dimensions are shown on the drawings the dimensions will be followed. Where the dimensions are not indicated, the drawings would be scaled exactly. All work is done on raster images which ensures accuracy in all work done.

We follow CAD standards as per your requirements to ensure seamless integration of the output with your company standards, i.e. various elements on the drawings will be layered as per your requirements. We can use AIA layering standards also. We follow a 2-tier work and checking process, to ensure that the output is of a very high quality.

All drawings and details are drawn on a 1:1 scale in the model space. Where dimensions are shown, dimensions re-drawn are true dimensions, i.e. taken from the drawing element, which change if the elements in the drawing change.

Drawing elements and details are scaled on the paper scale at the relevant scale and Title Block is applied. We can put your own title block as needed.

2. Quality Control

A 2-tier work and checking process, to ensure an error free output is to followed for all conversion work.

Stage One

The person drafting the drawing is responsible for the quality of any work done by them. Once a drawing is completed a drafter is required to spend about 10-15 % of the time taken to complete the work, in checking it and correcting/adding any missed details.

Stage Two

A supervisor for the drafter, will make an independent check and correction for each drawing. A list of all mistakes noted by the supervisor will be made and kept as records. A copy of these mistakes will also be give to the drafter, so that he/she learns to avoid such mistakes for further work.

Each drawings before submission to the client is certified by the supervisor to be accurate.

Checks followed for each stage

Checking at each stage consists of the following:

1. Elements – Checking that all diagrams, details are drawn correctly
2. Text – proof reading of all text and a spelling check.
3. Dimensions – ensuring drawings have been drawn to the correct dimension.
4. Layering standards – checking that various elements in the drawings have been put on the appropriate layers.
5. Line Weight and Scale – for all elements to be checked, especially for the paper space.
6. Title Block and Viewport – to be checked to ensure that the scaling for the viewports has been done correctly in the paper space.
   

4. Delivery

The completed electronic files can then be sent to you by any of the following methods ;

• Email
• CD or DVD -Copied onto compact disk or dvd and sent to you by courier
• FTP – we can give you our FTP account details on the Internet, where we will upload all completed work, for you to download
